Simple, stash-busting, and knits up in just a couple hours!  We made these at the shop's holiday party and now the pattern is up so you can make one, too.

Several years ago I made twenty-some of these for high schoolers in a production of Seussical.  You don't make that many of something without remembering the pattern, and so here it is, to share.  Because your cat needs a hat, and this one just might be sized to fit.

This hat came about when students asked for a simple introduction to stranded knitting.  The pattern is written for knitters who can knit, purl, and work in the round, but are new to stranding.  If you're a knitting teacher and would like a free preview copy & my teaching notes, please e-mail me.

Love those useful, stretchy, crocheted market bags, but would rather be knitting?  This pattern uses some clever construction around the handles to get around the problem of this lacy fabric knitting up on the bias.
